Dr Sumeet Kumar is a Senior Consultant, Department of Neuroradiology, at the National Neuroscience Institute. She obtained her medical degree and radiology board certification from India, qualified her FRCR from UK and completed her advanced specialist training in radiology in Singapore. She has obtained the European Diploma in Neuroradiology.
She has a special interest in imaging in dementia, normal pressure hydrocephalus and brain tumours; and in utilisation of advanced MRI techniques. She leads and participates in clinical multidisciplinary meetings and is involved in the teaching for SingHealth and National residency programs. She also supervises medical students and clinical fellows.
Dr Kumar is involved in research projects in collaboration with the neurologists and neurosurgeons. She has been awarded a research grant for a project investigating the role of advanced MR diffusion techniques and perfusion in dementia. She was awarded a fellowship at Leiden University Medical Centre in 2016 by NNI.
Dr Kumar has won several awards including 1st rank in Medicine practical exam at Mumbai University in 1997 and RADSc ACP Education Award (Residency) in 2016.
Dr Kumar organised the prestigious 15th NNI Advanced Neuroimaging Course in Singapore in October 2015. She has been an invited speaker at several international meetings and courses including the prestigious European Course of Neuroradiology and European Society of Radiology.
Dr Kumar is also an Adjunct Instructor at the Duke-NUS Medical School.
