From 2015 - 2016, Dr Pillay was on sabbatical with the Department of Neurosurgery, Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital, Queensland, Australia, where he was a staff specialist. After which, he returned to the Walton Centre.
Dr Pillay sub-specialises in spine surgery with a special interest in craniocervical spine conditions.
