Dr Gabriel Yiin is a Senior Consultant at the Department of Neurology, National Neuroscience Institute (NNI@SGH). Dr Yiin received his medical degree from the University of Nottingham in 2002 and MRCP (UK) in 2005. He received his Neurology specialist training in Oxford and Newcastle (UK) from 2006 to 2014.

He had also completed a DPhil at the University of Oxford in 2014. His research focused on systematic reviews of stroke incidence studies, clinical epidemiology of atrial fibrillation-related vascular events, and methods to improve secondary prevention using prolonged cardiac monitoring and biomarkers.

When he was working as a Consultant Neurologist at Great Western Hospital (UK), he was part of the Thrombectomy Innovation and Transformation Network to implement the Brainomix AI software as a decision aided tool in district general hospitals to facilitate transfer of eligible stroke patients to tertiary unit for mechanical thrombectomy.
